We crossed over a state line, apparently one that we weren't allowed to bring fruit over, but guess what, we had a lot of fruit. So it was time to consume! We pulled over to the side of the road, pulled out bags of apples, mangos, cherries, started cutting, eating, and spitting out pits. We were afraid that with our packed Land Cruiser we'd be a target for officials looking for produce, but it turns out there wasn't a big road block as we expected, just a rest area to throw away fruit products.

Kelly's lucky day, I bet she dreams about people saying "ok, we've got to eat all this fruit, and now!" |

Saying goodbye to peels and pits |
Soon after our sweet farewell, we entered another land. This one did not have fruit growing on the trees on the streets, instead it looked like something from a post-apocalyptic story.

"Super Spikes" these covered the ground, barefoot is out of the question, as are flip flops. We each spent several minutes after our little walk around the area to get all the Super Spikes off our shoes before getting back into the LC. |
