No, we didn't actually make it to Hobbiton, the mythical location or the filming location, but we did go to Matamata, the town near where they filmed Hobbiton in the LOTR and Hobbit movies. The i site (sort of like visitors centers) was all decked out like a hobbit home, and we thought between that and just driving around the country side we didn't need to shell out 45 bucks each to get the tour of the movie set.
