Mt. Owen southern approach

My pictures from our hike up Mt. Owen can only begin to comprehend the beauty and majesty of the day.  Partially because my photography skills are lacking, and partially because how can a two dimensional rendering convey the feeling of exhausted elation at the height of a long steep hike with six river crossings?  How can it express the depth and magnitude of a mountainscape on a clear day?

Kelly admiring the view from the beginning of the tussock.

If you notice the tilt of the horizon you can imagine  just how steep it was above treeline.

The aftermath for my feed.
